Hi, I ran the bitdefender cd and found 3 infected items. However the final message was that the fix was ignored and the computer was still infected. Is there a phone no to contact the 24 hour support team that is advertised? Is there a good reason the three items was not removed or repaired?
Thanks for any help or suggestions.

I’ve tried burning both the 2008 and 2009 versions and neither works. In either, I don’t get the screen shown above, I get one that gives me options to “start knoppix” which gives me some limited shell in which I can’t do anything or “boot from first hard drive” which of course gets me into windows. Where’s the anti virus?

Got it to work fine on a clean laptop, but couldn’t start Knoppix on suspected infected desktop. Can’t start that machine in Windows safe mode either. Issues related? Don’t know what else to do if I can’t boot into anything but the infected OS. Will try one of the other implementations, but any help/suggestions would be helpful.

Burned the ISO file to the CD
Set BIOS to read from CD first
Restart computer and see (for about 1 second) the prompt “Boot from CD: ” then it boots from the hard drive.
Tried typing “Y” at prompt but no luck or I am not fast enough.
Not quite sure what to do.

I Wanted to thank you for leading me to BitDefender’s Boot Rescue CD App. In case it helps anyone out there, I original tried to burn a CD image from the .ISO file using Roxio and an old version of Nero CD Burn. Both apps. create their own ISO file from an original CD, but wouldn’t handle an already created ISO file.
I eventually downloaded isorecorder by Alex Feinman at http://isorecorder.alexfeinman.com/isorecorder.htm
It made it so easy! All you need to do is double click on any ISO file in My Computer or Explorer. Small and fast.
BitDefender ran perfectly off the Boot CD.
I would like to know where the updated Virus Signatures file is located after the update. I figure it’s temporarily stored in the RAMdisk it creates for itself. Seeing that I burned the ISO into a CD+R, I can’t imagine it burning updates to the CD. Luckily I have an open Broadband port.

FYI, I did read somewhere that some computers can’t handle “Linux” on boot CD. Something to do with Paradox I believe.
Maybe different partition mgrs? Anyway, it won’t boot properly on some computers.
