Run multiple Google Gtalk account

For any Google Gtalk fans want to run multiple instance Gtalk messenger account at the same times. But we cannot open all the Google IDs at a time with gtalk in a single computer. The only simple solution for running multiple Google Talk is using gtalk, gmail in IE, gmail at Chrome and gmail in Firefox simultaneously, this way you can login to different gtalk IDs.

multiple gtalk

However, I have discover three other methods that allow you can run multiple instance of GTalk Account by adding or enter some command the GTalk Messenger software or run two different GTalk software.

Method 1: Run Multiple Gtalk Messenger with nomutex command

  1. Right Click on your Gtalk shortcut. [Remember only this shortcut will run multiple instances, others wont be able to unless you edit their properties same as we are going to do now]
  2. Now go to properties
  3. In the target box, you will find something like this “C:\Program Files\Google\Google Talk\googletalk.exe”
  4. Now add -nomutex at the end of text in Target with a space. It will now become like “C:\Program Files\Google\Google Talk\googletalk.exe” -nomutex.gtalk multiple properties
  5. Click Ok and you are done

Now double click on the shortcut and you will see one more instance of Gtalk running on your PC. You can do the same even for other gtalk shortcuts in your pc.

Method 2: Download Google Talk Standard and Lab Edition

Normally Google Talk desktop edition comes in two editions – the standard client and the labs edition. This Google Talk trick is that you can install both these clients along side each other and even run them simultaneously using different Google Accounts. Both clients run simultaneously on the desktop without any problems.

Method 3: Digsby IM messenger to run multiple GTalk IDs

Digsby, an instant messenger that allow you login multiple Google Talk IDs under one software. You can even switch to offline or invisible modes, a privilege currently not available in the standard Google Talk client.
