Windows 8 Download – Windows 8 Consumer Preview Build

Windows 8 Consumer Preview, latest free Windows 8 build that released by Microsoft for public download during the Microsoft Keynote at Mobile World Congress. This Windows 8 consumer preview will be the last version of the OS before the release candidate arrives, followed by the final Gold build before released to market.

  • 16 GB available hard disk space (32-bit) or 20 GB (64-bit)
  • DirectX 9 graphics device with WDDM 1.0 or higher driver

However, it’s the best that the computer can equipped with 2 GB in case you would like to install Windows 8 64bits edition.

Types of Windows 8 Consumer Preview installation available:

On Windows 8 download page, the Windows 8 installation can be done in two ways.

1. Get Windows 8 setup installer that will guide you with the upgrade on your exiting Windows installation.

Windows 8 Consumer Preview Setup will check whether your PC can run Windows 8 Consumer Preview and select the right download. Setup also features a compatibility report and upgrade assistance. Built-in Windows 8 Disk Burning tools for creating an ISO or bootable flash drive are available for some previous versions of Windows (excluding Windows XP and earlier).

2. Download the Windows 8 ISO file (links given below) which you can burn in a flash drive or DVD to do a fresh install, removing the existing Windows installation.

If you would prefer not to use Windows 8 Consumer Preview Setup, you can download Windows 8 Consumer Preview in ISO format instead. The easiest way to convert an ISO file to a DVD in Windows 7 is to use Windows Disc Image Burner. On a PC running Windows XP or Windows Vista, a third-party program is required to convert an ISO file into installable media – and DVD burning software often includes this capability. One option is the USB / DVD download tool provided by the Microsoft Store. You can also download Windows 8 Consumer Preview Setup, which includes tools that allow you to create a DVD or USB flash drive from an ISO file (Windows Vista or Windows 7 required).
