2026 update: disc, ISO, and virtual drive tools are now niche utilities
CD, DVD, Blu-ray, ISO, and virtual drive tools are still useful for old software, recovery media, and archive workflows, but Windows now handles many ISO tasks directly. Use modern tools only when the built-in option is not enough.

Burning Mill Express Key Features:
- Create custom data, audio and mixed-mode projects and record them to physical discs as well as disc images. Supports recording to dual-layer DVDs.
- Blank (erase) rewritable discs using four different methods. Burn disc images (ISO and BIN/CUE).
- Fixate discs (write lead-out information to prevent further data from being added to the disc). Scan the SCSI/IDE bus for devices and collect information about their capabilities.
- Create disc copies, on the fly and using a temporary disc image. Import session data from multi-session discs and add more sessions to them.
- Display disc information.
- Save audio and data tracks to files (.wav, .wma, .ogg, .mp3 and .iso).

In my opinion Burning Mill Express is nothing but rebranded Infra Recorder (http://infrarecorder.org/). I can see no difference between these two. Someone “smart” took code of Infra Recorder (it’s open source) and changed name to Burning Mill Express. Correct me if I’m wrong but it looks to me like theft.

How do you use this to make a bootable CD? I can’t seem to find the option…

There is an option to burn ISO images, just burn bootable ISO images with a blank CD DVD. Then you will have a bootable CD.
